To provide effective and high-quality service and to maintain appropriate accountability, 360°kids must collect, store and sometimes share personal information about clients. It is important to be consistent and careful in the way we manage what is written and said about a client and how 360°kids decides who can see or hear this information. It is essential that 360°kids protects and upholds these rights, and also that it acts correctly in those circumstances where the right to confidentiality or privacy may be overridden by other considerations.
360°kids may override client confidentiality in the following or similar situations:
- In situations where a client is being actively suicidal or in 360°kids’ judgement there is reason to believe a client will cause themselves serious harm or death.
- Where there is reason to believe in 360°kids’ judgement that a serious threat exists by a client to a third party.
- Upon disclosure by any party of physical and/or sexual abuse of a person under 16 years of age.
- When ordered by a court of law
To protect the privacy and confidentiality of our clients 360°kids ensures that they are well informed about their rights and that 360°kids takes its responsibilities seriously. 360°kids will protect the privacy and confidentiality of personal information related to clients by ensuring that all Board members, management, staff and volunteers meet the requirements of any relevant legislation for the use and disclosure of personal information.
